How FTC works
FTC stands for FIRST Tech Challenge. It’s a robotics competition for students in grades 7–12. Teams design, build, program, and drive their own robots.
Each season brings a new game. Teams build robots to complete its tasks in head-to-head matches, putting engineering and programming skills into practice.
Getting a robot ready takes problem-solving and teamwork. FTC calls its approach to competition “gracious professionalism”: compete hard and treat other teams with respect.
FIRST organizes the program, which leads up to a World Championship.
